A downloadable game for Windows

This is a game developed by CJ, the host of the YouTube channel known as Pause & Effect, in an effort to make a more serious project using RPG Maker MV! The game sees a character named Denny losing his life and receiving an offer from Death to appease the regrets and final requests of spirits stuck in limbo to help them pass to the afterlife.

Originally conceptualized as "Life After" in 2016 and selected as a Design Document Finalist for the TERMINUS Golden Joystick Awards in 2017.

Credit for the project's current name goes to AutMouse Labs on YouTube.

This game will be available for free, but if you would like to donate, consider leaving a tip on the Pause & Effect Ko-Fi page: https://ko-fi.com/pauseandeffectyt

Noted, thanks! I'm mostly new to updating stuff over time on this site, so I'll keep that in mind going forward.

I found a softlock that could be caused by talking to the guy in front of this building facing this direction. I think a good fix would be moving the NPC to the very right.

In addition, I think I found the music producer? But he only talks about his daughter. If that wasn't him, then I still couldn't find him!

UPDATE: It wasn't him. He just so happened to share the same sprite as the guy I'm looking for. Are you sure you added a event to add the producer to the beach section?

Okay, I'll fix the producer's assistant ASAP.

As for the actual producer himself, go one screen over to the left from where you see the drunken sailor passed out on the pier, there's another pier area that also features a spirit that breaks the fourth wall.

Oh, I didn't notice that I could walk there!

Version 1.0.0.1 is now published! This includes the bug fixes pointed out by Dorkfishie (many thanks for playing!), and a few extra things. Enjoy!

I found a bug; when I went from the beach to the shopping district on the second day, the game automatically made me go to the left, softlocking me.

EDIT: this isn't limited to the beach! It's whenever I go to the shopping district on the second day.

I appreciate your feedback! That's definitely a strange thing, I'll fix it ASAP and update accordingly.

Oh shoot! I forgot to mention the invisible waiter as well!

Ah, okay, that's certainly a quick fix, thanks for the heads-up!

And the girl who suddenly transitions into a guy when you talk to her after she passes out as well. Also, I couldn't find the captain/music producer I need to talk to at the beach.

I may just have to remove that one. That happened with two other NPC's during the dev process and nothing I tried with RPG Maker MV's damaged character sprites fixed the issue, so it may be an engine bug.
